Iran Asks Kuwait ‘remove Trade, Customs Barriers’

Iran has asked Kuwait to lift the restrictions on the movement of goods and remove trade and customs barriers in the way of bilateral trade between the two countries.

Al-Rai quoting the official website of the Iranian government reported that a meeting brought together Kuwaiti Foreign Minister Sheikh Dr. Ahmed Al-Nasser with his counterpart Hussein Amir Abdollahian on the sidelines of the extraordinary meeting of the foreign ministers of the Organization of Islamic Conference on Afghanistan last week, noting that Abdollahian stressed on the development of relations between the two countries and efforts to remove consular barriers and facilitate the movement of citizens.

Abdollahian pointed out that relations between the two countries are “based on brotherhood and good neighborliness,” while Al-Nasser was quoted by the website as indicating that the two countries’ consular and border committees will convene soon, and that he invited his counterpart to visit Kuwait.
