01 June 2018 Crime News

The Capital prosecutor ordered the detention of an Indian goldsmith who was accused of stealing gold and bribing two employees of Ministry of Commerce and Industry, reports Al-Anba daily.

Even though the suspect denied the two allegations especially bribery, eyewitnesses affirm his involvement in the crime.

In detail, a 1968-born Kuwaiti citizen who works as an inspector of precious stones and metals lodged a complaint at Salhiya Police Station, accusing an Indian expatriate, identified as RB, of stealing gold and bribing two employees in Ministry of Commerce and Industry. He explained that the accused visited the Control Department of the ministry with gold which he had placed in plastic bags in violation to the specifications of the ministry.

The Indian was then informed that the gold will be confiscated as it would be considered as stolen, but the suspect attempted to bribe the employees so that they would not confiscate the gold and refer him to the Prosecution.
