In Iraq, Six Children Drowned While Trying To Save One

Iraqi media reported that 6 children drowned in a river in Iraq after one of them fell into it while the others tried to save her.

On Monday, one of the children went down to the Euphrates River while playing in Fallujah, north of Baghdad, and did not return, according to reports.

An Alsumaria TV report cites a security source as saying, "The girl was drowning when some children jumped in the river to save her." Unfortunately, they all drowned.

Three siblings were among the dead. Their bodies were eventually found.

The media reported that the eldest victim was 14 years old.
