Following The Onset Of Change In Weather Pattern Visits To Health Centers Increase

The general medicine clinics in primary health care centers in residential areas have witnessed an increase in the number of visitors during the recent period.

Health officials told Al-Qabas this week witnessed a large number of visitors suffering colds, seasonal flu and allergies saying this ‘rush’ was expected following the drop in weather temperatures and the approaching winter season, where care should be taken to take vaccinations for seasonal influenza and ‘pneumococcal’ pneumonia, according to the Ministry’s plan and the groups currently targeted in the vaccination campaign, to ensure that specific segments are not exposed to health setbacks.

Health officials pointed out the turnout for winter vaccination campaign is still within the expected range, and it is given to those who are 50 years old and above and those with chronic diseases, however it does not prevent anyone from getting the seasonal influenza vaccination.
