Fire Broke Out In A Flat At Farwaniya
Fire broke out in a flat on the sixth floor of a residential building in Farwaniya area, resulting in the death of a 45-year old man and injuries and burns to an African woman and a firefighter.
According to sources, when the Control Room of Kuwait Fire Service Directorate (KFSD) received information about the flat on fire, firefighters from Farwaniya Fire Station rushed to the location and evacuated the tenants of the building.
One of the tenants, an African woman, sustained burns and suffered from smoke inhalation. She was given treatment at the site. When firefighters broke into the burning apartment, one of the firefighters sustained injuries and burns on his neck and ears. He was referred for treatment.
The remaining firefighters rescued a 45-year old man from the flat but he had sustained severe burns. Paramedics rushed him to Farwaniya Hospital but he died on the way due to cardiac arrest. Firefighters extinguished the fire before it spread further and launched investigations to determine the cause of the fire.
