Fahaheel Road Maintenance Work Reached 70 Percent

The engineer of the maintenance project on King Abdulaziz Al Saud Road (Fahaheel) m. Khaled Al-Shaiba said that the Public Authority for Roads and Land Transport doubled asphalt work during the partial ban period, in light of the ease of work with the suspension of traffic movement in the country, as road maintenance work reached 70 percent.

Al-Shaiba pointed out in a press statement that the project works that have been completed include most intersections on the road, in addition to the areas near residential plots on the road, indicating that the Public Authority for Roads and Land Transport has doubled production rates and works during the ban, in compliance with the desire of His Highness the Emir of the country to exploit that period in Completion of highway maintenance works.

He explained that the machinery and the quantities of asphalt supplied from the factory to the site where maintenance is carried out on the Fahaheel road were increased, and there was ease in the movement of “asphalt cars” that reach the site in a shorter time than before due to the ease of traffic movement during the evening ban period.

He indicated that the project aims to raise the capacity of the road network and reduce traffic congestion on the Fahaheel highway, in addition to raising the efficiency of asphalt on the road, appreciating the support of the Minister of Public Works, Minister of State for Housing Affairs Dr. Rana Al-Faris and the General Director of the General Authority for Roads and Land Transport Eng. Soha Ashkanani is unlimited to national cadres working on road maintenance projects.

It is noteworthy that King Abdulaziz Road extends from the First Ring Road intersection to the end of Interchange 91 with a length of 58 km towards the north and south with 26 intersections, and the maintenance project takes about 3 years, of which one year has passed. And 200 meters, and the Messila Bridge to the north with a length of 8 kilometers, and another on the same road from the Mangaf Bridge from 35.5 kilometers to 40 kilometers.

The project aims to raise the absorptive efficiency and reduce traffic congestion on the highway.
