Egyptian Couple Arrested For Helping Patients Suffering From Hepatitis C Hide Their Disease Before Undergoing The Medical Test
Personnel from the General Department for Residence Affairs, investigations sector, have arrested an Egyptian and his wife for helping patients suffering from Hepatitis C hide their disease before undergoing the medical test prior to obtaining the residence permit.
The daily, quoting a security source said investigations carried out by securitymen revealed the couple had turned their apartment in Hawalli into a mini clinic to carry out their illegal activity. The husband and wife were reportedly injecting the Hepatitis C patients with a kind of drug that helps the carriers hide the disease briefly for fees ranging between KD 250 and KD 300 each.
Acting on a tip-off from an unidentified source, police set a trap for the husband and wife and caught them red-handed also seized from them the marked police money. Police also seized from the couple a number of related syringes and medicines.
