Earthquake Of 6.2 Magnitude Hits Halmahera, Indonesia

Indonesia was hit by a powerful earthquake Monday with a magnitude of 6.2, according to the German Geological Sciences Research Center (GFZ). The earthquake, originating at a depth of 160 kilometers below the Earth’s surface, sent tremors through the region, prompting concerns about potential damage and aftershocks, reported Al-Rai Daily.

Halmahera, a large island in eastern Indonesia known for its stunning landscapes but also for its seismic susceptibility, was the epicenter of the earthquake.
