During Ramadan, A Kuwaiti Man Was Arrested For Smoking And Dancing In Public

Kuwaiti citizen arrested for dancing and smoking during the daytime in Ramadan while other Muslims fasted, reports Interior Ministry.

An image of the young man dancing in front of his car while smoking and dancing has gone viral on social media, creating anger in the muslim country.

Based on the video, the ministry launched an investigation and arrested the man. It appears that the man was in a disturbed state.

Kuwaiti law forbids Muslims from drinking and eating in public during the daytime in Ramadan. According to the statute, "Anyone who breaks the fast in public during the day in Ramadan, or incites or compels others to break the fast in public shall be punished with a fine not exceeding 100 Kuwaiti dinars ($330) and imprisonment for not more than one month, or both of those.".

According to article No. 206 of the law, individuals who consume drugs in public places or places where others can see them are subject to imprisonment not exceeding six months and/or fines not exceeding 50 dinars. In the event of intoxication, the same penalty will apply.
