Emergency Team affiliated to Mubarak Al-Kabeer Municipality Wednesday night embarked on an inspection campaign in some shops, cooperative society stores and supermarkets within the governorate during which it seized 153 kilograms of sweets and 276 bottles of vinegar.
According to the team leader Fares Al-Hajri, the inspectors organized the impromptu inspection campaign at various locations within the governorate based on directives from the Director General of Kuwait Municipality Engineer Ahmad Al-Manfouhi. He explained that Al-Manfouhi instructed to launch intensive campaign in cooperative society stores, restaurants, shops, meat market and warehouses to ensure that food produce therein were healthy and fit for human consumption.
The officers also verified whether the shops violated rules and regulations allotted by Kuwait Municipality. Al-Hajri advised Kuwaiti and expatriate consumers to be cautious when dealing with street hawkers and to buy from authorized shopping outlets as it will help their case if they have complaints or inquiries.
