The Criminal Court has ruled that it is not competent to hear the case of an Egyptian teacher Najla Muhammad who was accused of causing the death of student. The Prosecution has now sent the case to the Court of Misdemeanor, reports Al-Anba daily.

The prosecutor had referred the defendant to the Criminal Court on four counts, one of which led to the death of a fourth grade student because of ill-treatment, as charged by the victim’s father and mother.

However, the teacher has denied the charge. The incident took place in February last year, when the student died after returning home from school and the parents blamed his teacher saying she treated him harshly and criticized despite the knowledge of his drawbacks which led due to health complications.
