An officer in the Ministry of Interior, with the rank of captain, has filed a complaint accusing three Egyptians of assaulting and insulting him while on duty for issuing them a traffic citation for obstructing the vehicle of one of their compatriots, reports Al-Rai daily.

A security source told the daily this happened when the Egyptian complained to the Farwaniya Police Station that he was unable to go to work because his car was blocked by the vehicle of one of the suspects. When the police officer went to deal with the complaint, the owner of the vehicle along with two other compatriots picked up an argument with the officer and said it is unwise on the part of the officer to issue a citation.
