The Criminal Court imposed five years prison sentence with hard labor on blogger Abdullah Al-Saleh for offending the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Al-Saleh’s imprisonment totaled 10 years after being sentenced in similar charges. The Public Prosecution charged him with offending the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in a program he directs and produces, as he described the policies of Saudi Arabia in a manner that is offensive to the honor of the kingdom and that of its people when he posted a clip of the program in question on Twitter. Al-Saleh was previously sentenced to five years in jail in a State Security case involving Saudi Arabia. After the issuance of the first sentence, he announced that he has sought asylum in Britain where he surrendered his Kuwaiti passport.
