Court Acquitted Two Suspected Members Of Ansar Al-sham

18 July 2017 Crime News

The Court of Cassation presided over by Judge Ahmad Al-Ajeel upheld the verdict issued by the Court of Appeals, which acquitted two suspected members of “Ansar Al-Sham”, affirming that acquitting the two defendants could not warrant any objective objection, considering the evaluation of the proofs presented. The court agreed on the lack of concrete evidences to prove beyond any reasonable doubt that the second defendant participated in attacks against Syria and Iraq, assisted the first defendant in joining DAESH in Kuwait and enabled him to travel outside to meet an official of the terrorist group. The panel disagreed with the Public Prosecution over allegation that the fourth suspect was a member of Ansar Al-Sham and had incited other people to join, as well as collected donations for DAESH. The court stressed that all of the abovementioned allegations were baseless.
