Court Acquitted A Twitter User Abdulrahman Al-ajmi

17 February 2017 Crime News

The Court of Cassation has overturned the verdict issued by the Court of Appeals, which had acquitted a Twitter user Abdulrahman Al-Ajmi, who was accused of inciting the toppling of the ruling system in Kuwait, using words that can be deemed offensive to the Amiri entity, engaging in hostile actions against a friendly country (Saudi Arabia) and spreading false news. The court instead sentenced him to four-year imprisonment with hard labor. Previously, the Criminal Court had sentenced Al-Ajmi to jail term of four years with hard labor but the ruling was overturned by the Court of Appeals. It has now been reinstated by the Court of Cassation.
