Court Acquitted A Kuwaiti Woman Of Forging Citizenship Documents Through Dna

12 July 2019 Crime News

The Criminal Court acquitted a Kuwaiti woman of forging citizenship documents through DNA, in which three of her relatives were sentenced to seven years in prison with hard labor after they were found guilty of forging documents showing they are related to one of the accused. Representing the citizen, Attorney Jarrah Al-Enezi challenged the logic behind the testimony given by the prosecutor, which he said, lacked technical evidence to prove that his client was involved in the crime, while his client denied the charges from the start. The prosecution accused the defendants of forging citizenship documents by providing a sample of DNA not belonging to the applicant, just to make it appear as if he is related to one of the citizens, with the aim of getting the citizenship of Kuwait. The court found no substantial evidence to show that the Kuwaiti woman participated in the crime in any way, prompting the court to acquit her of all charges leveled against her by the Public Prosecution.
