Court Acquitted A Bangladeshi Car Wash Worker Of Stealing Vehicle

14 February 2017 Crime News

The Misdemeanor Court acquitted a Bangladeshi car wash worker of stealing a citizen’s vehicle. Instead, the court imposed one year imprisonment with hard labor on the manager of the car wash. The Public Prosecution had earlier charged the duo with stealing the vehicle of a citizen and then selling it to another person for KD 400.

The victim affirmed in investigations that he left the vehicle with the keys at the car wash to be washed by the Bangladeshi but when he returned the next day he found out the car was missing. When asked about the missing vehicle, the Bangladeshi told the citizen he had no idea where the vehicle was. The car is reported to be valued at KD 4,500.

Investigations led to a Pakistani who was summoned for questioning, during which he affirmed that he bought the vehicle for KD 400 from an Egyptian — the car wash manager. Lawyer for the Bangladeshi, Attorney Ali Al-Ali, raised doubts on the charge pointing out the lack of incriminating evidence against his client. He also pointed out in court that his client denied the accusation and the person who bought the vehicle identified the culprit – the manager, so he asked the court to acquit his client.
