According to reports in Mirror.co.uk, the tragic incident happened in Jizzakh, a city in Uzbekistan, where dozens of people were sent crashing to the ground when it snapped.

Riders were strapped in and flung high in the air for a 360-degree swing, but the metal arm of the ride snapped in half, sending them to the ground from a height of 23ft.

The authorities said one teenage female rider was killed but did not specify if there were any other injuries, the report added.
