Local media says a speeding vehicle has run over a 15-year-old student in Kuwait, killing him.
An Egyptian student was running across a road to his school when he was hit by a woman Kuwaiti driver. Doctors in Salmiya city tried to save the victim's life, but it was too late. Police have arrested the driver.
A Kuwaiti newspaper reports that 65 road traffic fatalities have occurred so far in the first quarter of 2022.
In January, 24 people died, in February 23 people died, and in March 18 people died, Al Qabas stated. According to the report, the majority of victims were young.
Driving past red traffic lights and speeding were contributing factors to the accidents. Drivers were also talking on their mobile phones while driving.
