08 August 2022 Crime News

According to local media, a 20-year-old Egyptian student committed suicide after failing high school exams twice.

As soon as he was informed of his failure in the examination, the high-school student hanged himself, according to Mina Police. They discovered that their son had committed suicide in one of their rooms after investigating the parents.

According to Egyptian Education Minister Tarek Shawki's announcement on Saturday, the average pass rate for Thanaweya Amma (high school) students in the final examinations for the school year 2021/2022 was 75.4%, higher than last year's 74.4%.

Shawki noted that the mathematics section had the highest success rate with 81 percent, followed by science at 78.32 percent and then literature at 68 percent. In the science, mathematics, and literature branches, the top scores were 402, 407, and 378, respectively, according to Shawki, who noted that no student achieved a perfect score of 100 percent this academic year.

In the present year and the previous year, students have received lower grades after the introduction of the new education system, which focuses on teaching Thanaweya Amma students to think rather than memorize during exams.
