A Crackdown On Illegal Eid Billboards In Kuwait

05 May 2022 Crime News

A Kuwaiti newspaper reports that the government is launching a campaign against the illegal placement of billboards displaying greetings on the occasion of the Eid Al Fitr festival.

There is an increase in the number of unsightly greetings boards on roads. Well-informed sources say the municipality is trying to expose and eliminate this unsanitary advertising method every day.

These boards, according to many road users, block streets and obscure guidance signs.

Official and unofficial greeting boards have been the subject of complaints, according to the sources.

A municipal fine of KD100 per ad is levied when advertisements are deemed illegal and unsightly, according to our sources.

Eid Al Fitr began in Kuwait on Monday, marking the end of Ramadan.
