8 Unlicensed Websites Referred To Prosecution

Eight news websites will have to face the public prosecution for not having licenses. Minister of Information and Minister of State for Youth Affairs Muhammad Al-Jabri stated that these websites violated the provisions of the law of Electronic Media Regulation Law No. 8 of 2016.

Under the provision of law no 8/2016, any online news media outlet must apply for a license from the government to operate electronic news services, bulletins, websites of newspapers and television. The list of licensed websites and online media is published on the ministry website, with the necessary details for the licensee, responsible manager, employees and the purpose of the website.
