5 New Air Quality Monitoring Stations To Be Built In Shuaiba
As part of the 2035 Vision, a project to supply, install, operate and maintain 5 air quality monitoring stations complete with all equipment, devices, and technology necessary for them, and analytical laboratories for samples collected during inspection of factories and the marine environment in the region is expected to be implemented in the Shuaiba area during the current year,
The sustainable consumption and production assessment report issued recently by the Environment Public Authority said this project is worth 1,319,600 dinars, reports Al-Anba daily.
Sources said the project includes the supply and operation of an integrated environmental center in East Shuaiba Industrial Area to complete monitoring and inspection, collect and analyze samples, formulate reports and studies, and ensure compliance with standards and global environmental requirements.
The sources pointed out that the project has a provision to train 15 Kuwaitis in the area of analysis, sampling, detection, data analysis, and preparing reports.
This project aims to carry out around-the-clock monitoring of air quality and to monitor and detect the increase in pollutants above the permissible level.
It also allows for periodic inspection of the working environment inside the factories, collection and analysis of samples in the center’s laboratories, and analysis and evaluation of samples and data received from inspectors using automated devices and equipment according to environmental standards.
The sources said this project, which is scheduled to be completed this year, will be added to the existing stations at the authority, which will allow for better air quality monitoring.
