The National Economy Crisis Is Getting Worse
A committee established by the Kuwait Chamber of Commerce and Industry for the purpose of finance and investment affirmed that the economic crisis facing Kuwait is a real crisis only made more serious by the critical transformations affecting the global economy, a crisis that demands a new vision to liberate Kuwait's economy from the dominant position of oil as its primary revenue source, while enabling the private sector to be the engine of development and to encourage private sector participation in economic reform..
The committee met for the second time this year, as it reviewed the items on the agenda, which included discussing issues connected to the general economic and financial conditions, and the prospects for economic growth in light of the challenges facing the Kuwaiti economy, whether at the local, regional or international levels, as well as the effect of the Covid crisis on the Kuwaiti economy during the past two years, and the fact that the war in Ukraine is happening at a time when the world was still struggling with the effects of Corona, as well as the rise in fuel prices as a result of this war.
As part of its second meeting for the year 2022, the Kuwait Chamber of Commerce and Industry's Commerce and Transport Committee examined ways to improve and develop logistics infrastructures and operational services for ports and customs outlets in line with global requirements and in order to support economic development.
