The Kuwaiti Cabinet Holds Its First Meeting

Tuesday at Seif Palace, the Kuwaiti cabinet met for the first time under the leadership of His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmad Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah. The prime minister praised the new ministers for taking on responsibility at this crucial time, according to Deputy Prime Minister, Oil Minister, and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Mohammad Al-Fares.

The Crown Prince's address to the nation on June 22 in particular, as well as his words of advice to the new ministers after the oath-taking ceremony, which mainly focused on the necessity of doubling efforts in order to accelerate development, meet people's expectations, uphold the constitution, and address citizens' concerns, were emphasized by the prime minister. He also emphasized the wise directives of His Highness the Amir and His Highness the Crown Prince.

He also highlighted the new government's major priorities, including translating the directives from His Highness the Amir and His Highness the Crown Prince and exerting every effort to address pressing issues in order to advance the nation's development and preserve its stability.

On behalf of the new cabinet members, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defense, and Acting Minister of Interior Sheikh Talal Khaled Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah expressed their gratitude for His Highness the Amir and His Highness the Crown Prince's confidence.

He promised that he and his colleagues would work as a team to implement the political leadership's policies in order to serve the country and its people, achieve development, growth, and prosperity, accelerate development, provide the general public with high-quality services, and eradicate corruption in all of its forms.

The cabinet also thanked His Highness Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah for his earnest efforts to serve the beloved country during his tenure and praised his outstanding achievements. The cabinet once again expressed its gratitude to the friendly nations that helped to liberate the State of Kuwait and restore its international legitimacy, sovereignty, freedom, and dignity on the 32nd anniversary of Iraq's invasion of that nation.

On this difficult anniversary, the Cabinet also urged the Kuwaiti people to uphold the security and stability of their nation, to come together and foster collaboration, and to support the government of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.

The cabinet, on the other hand, discussed a number of international issues. It sent its sympathies to US Vice President Joe Biden over the flood victims in Kentucky, wished the injured a swift recovery, and hoped that the US would be able to recover from the natural tragedy.
