Six Kuwaiti Doctors Suspended, Including A Former Minister
Dr. Ahmed Al-Awadi, the Minister of Health, has taken decisive action by suspending the professional licenses of six Kuwaiti doctors, including one former minister. This stern decision was made in response to a range of serious violations committed by these medical professionals.
According to Al Qabas, the doctors' licenses were suspended due to their involvement in the illicit trade of Lyrica, a prescription medication, and operating medical facilities without the necessary licenses. Aside from raising serious concerns about the integrity of the medical profession, these actions also pose significant risks to public health.
Minister Al-Awadi also issued financial penalties against 20 prominent companies engaged in contracts with the Ministry of Health in addition to suspending medical licenses. These fines come as a result of contractual violations that were identified during a thorough review and audit process.
Dr. Ahmed Al-Awadi's commitment to maintaining the standards of Kuwait's healthcare industry is evident in these actions, which promote transparency and accountability within the sector while ensuring the safety and well-being of the public.
