Power Cut Traps Students In Lifts

07 February 2024 Kuwait

The residents of Farwaniya experienced a sudden power outage lasting approximately thirty minutes, on Tuesday morning. The outage, occurring between 6:30 and 7:00 a.m., resulted in some children becoming stuck in elevators, prompting their families to seek assistance. Eyewitnesses reported the incident, noting the inconvenience caused, especially during the morning rush hour as students were on their way to school. The exact cause of the outage remains unknown, reports Al-Anba daily. While some buildings had guards who efficiently handled the situation by assisting those trapped in elevators, others had to reach out to the Ministry of Interior for support. The Ministry, in turn, coordinated with the General Fire Force centers to address reports and ensure the safe release of individuals affected by the power disruption.
