Police Investigate Alleged Attack On Hospital By Family
The Kuwaiti police have opened an investigation into accusations exchanged between a local hospital and the family of a deceased patient.
Local newspaper reports that the hospital has filed a police report accusing the Kuwaiti family of rampaging in the hospital after one of their members died.
Al Anba quoted a hospital official as saying the hospital filed a complaint with the police station in Nugra in Hawalli governorate, accusing the family of causing panic among patients there.
According to the hospital's legal representative, an old diabetic Kuwaiti man was admitted to the hospital in a very advanced state. His foot was amputated after his family’s consent, but he later died. His family reacted and embarked on the above-mentioned behavior,” the source added.
The deceased's family claimed that a medical mistake caused his death. Police are looking into the claims made by both sides.
Kuwaiti media reported several violent incidents inside medical facilities in recent months.
