Plan To Relocate Private Schools From Residential Areas

14 November 2023 Kuwait

In a significant move, the Municipal Council has given the nod to a proposal aimed at relocating private schools from all model residential areas across the country. The decision, once issued and approved by the government, will initiate a three-year transition period for the implementation of this strategic shift.

During this three-year timeframe, private schools are expected to complete the construction and full equipping of their new premises. It's worth noting that no excuses will be entertained for schools found in violation of this directive, as the ample transition period allows for adequate time for planning and execution, according to reliable sources.

Previously, the government had already earmarked specific sites for schools in various investment areas, including Jahra Investment, Farwaniya Investment, Fahaheel, and Mahboula, as part of the comprehensive plan to accommodate the relocation of private schools from residential zones. This move is poised to streamline educational infrastructure and enhance the overall urban landscape, aligning with the broader development goals of the country.
