Nurse Escapes After Embezzling Kd 15,000

A nurse who worked in a hospital in Al-Sabah medical specialized zone left onboard a flight from Kuwait and it was discovered she embezzled over KD 15,000 in unlawful payments during her tenure at the ministry.

The Health Ministry launched an investigation into the suspected corruption in the administration department in the nurses sector in Al-Sabah Health District. It is suspected that illegal payments were made to nursing staff members.

Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health Dr/ Mustafa Reda issued an administrative order to form an investigation committee headed by Assistant Undersecretary for Legal Affairs with the aim to uncover “administrative wrongdoings” in the nurses department in Al-Sabah Health District. He also requested the committee to outline a plan for the improvement of nursing services in Al-Sabah specialized medical centers and hospitals to ensure such similar violations do not happen in the future.
