Noon Work Ban In Open Spaces Lifted By Pam
Public Authority for Manpower ended its campaign today, "Their safety is more important," by ending the prescribed period for banning work at noon in open spaces, from June 1 to August 31, 11 am to 4 pm.
To ensure that Administrative Resolution No. is implemented, the authority has started organizing media campaigns and inspection campaigns, according to Marzouq Al-Otaibi, Acting Director General of the authority. The law prohibits the employment of workers in open workplaces where the work is difficult due to harsh climatic conditions, in which direct sunlight makes it difficult to work in open environments.
Al-Otaibi explained that the results of the inspection campaigns carried out by the “noon work” team during the period amounted to 362 violating sites, and a total of 580 workers were present at the violating sites, and 60 reports were received. According to him, 362 sites violated for the first time, and all of them were first-time violators.
As he pointed out, the administrative decision regulates working hours without reducing them and does not cause delays in projects being implemented, stressing that it was taken into consideration in the interest of the public and in accordance with Kuwait's obligation to meet international labor standards.
Those who remained committed to implementing the decision and cooperating with the Manpower Authority in reporting any violation of the noontime ban were thanked.
