New Strategic Traffic Project Aims To Reduce Documentation Process Of Road Accidents
Secretary General of Supreme Council for Planning and Development Dr Khalid Mahdi revealed about a new strategic traffic project for reducing the documentation process of road accidents and traffic violations, based on the plan prepared by the secretariat general of the Supreme Council for Planning and Development and the UN Development Program.
He said this in a press release that he issued following a meeting at the secretariat general of the council. Assistant Undersecretary for Traffic Affairs at Ministry of Interior Major General Abdullah Al-Muhanna and representatives from the UN Development Program attended the meeting.
Indicating that a new system for registering traffic cases will be implemented, Dr Mahdi explained that the project titled ‘Film, Register and File using GIS system’ will enable traffic officers to register traffic violations, film them and then send them to the concerned authority in Ministry of Interior without the need to visit the police station.
The IT center and the General Investigations Department of the ministry will coordinate in this regard. He revealed that the project includes training a number of traffic officers on the use of GIS system which will help in locating the incident sites, adding that the system of immediate payment of traffic fines will be enforced next year.Â
