Negative Phenomena Committee Rejected By 53% Of Tweeters
According to Kuwaiti public opinion trends, 53.6% of tweeters oppose the formation of a Parliamentary Negative Phenomena Committee, 32.1 percent approve, and 14.3 percent remain neutral.
A local Arabic daily reports that a parliamentary struggle took place inside Abdullah Al-Salem's dome when the committee was formed to eradicate the scourge of drugs and other widespread negative phenomena. The government welcomed its formation to eradicate these negative phenomena.
A parliamentary majority approved the formation of the committee, sparking public opinion and the committee became a hot topic in Kuwait in the past two weeks, between supporters and opponents.
As a result of the lack of clarity of specific concepts and criteria for negative phenomena and their definition, several opinions opposing the formation of the committee were adopted, while the Interior Ministry's opinion claims it is intended to protect society from negative phenomena.
According to the study, 53.6 percent of respondents resisted the formation of the committee, but most of those comments focused on satirical phenomena within a social framework. Due to a lack of clarity in the committee's work criteria and the phenomena it will focus on, reservations were expressed about the committee's public freedoms.
In addition to anger, the tweeters demonstrated a lack of clarity of vision and a lack of importance of paying attention to negative phenomena at this time when Kuwait is experiencing an upcoming economic crisis.
