National Guard Emphasizes Vigilance In Regional Events: CPX - Shield Exercise Ensures Security Preparedness

Deputy Chief of the National Guard, Sheikh Faisal Al-Nawaf, underscored the imperative for vigilance amidst regional developments to safeguard the nation's security. He emphasized the necessity of bolstering coordination and combat readiness to effectively navigate crises and disasters.

Al-Nawaf's remarks were delivered during his presence and patronage of the inauguration of the National Guard's Command Centers Exercise (CPX – Shield), focusing on operations center management, security systems, and crisis response. The exercise saw participation from the Ministries of Defense and Interior, alongside the General Fire Force. Also in attendance were Lieutenant General Pilot Bandar Al-Muzain, Chief of the General Staff of the Army, and the Guard's Undersecretary.

National Engineer Lieutenant General Hashem Al-Rifai, Chief of the General Fire Force, was accompanied by Lieutenant General Khaled Al-Mekrad, Assistant Undersecretary for Traffic and Operations Affairs at the Ministry of Interior. Major General Yousef Al-Khuda, Assistant Chief of Staff of the Operations and Plans Authority, Major General Mohammed Majed, and numerous other army officers were also present.

Al-Nawaf conveyed greetings and appreciation from His Highness the Chief of the National Guard, Sheikh Salem Al-Ali, to the exercise participants, extending wishes for their success. He highlighted that the CPX – Shield exercise aligns with the directives of the political leadership, represented by His Highness the Amir Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.

The Supreme Council of the Armed Forces emphasizes cooperation and coordination with military counterparts, in line with the objectives of the National Guard's guiding document (2025 Protection and Support). This entails enhancing coordination, combat readiness, and efficiency in crisis and disaster management, as well as standardizing concepts and procedures across military entities.

Such preparedness is vital for addressing diverse circumstances, particularly amid regional events that necessitate vigilance to uphold homeland security. Lieutenant General Al-Muzain emphasized the role of such exercises in unifying efforts and integrating roles among participants, fostering coordination, exchanging experiences, and enhancing performance and combat readiness.

Lieutenant General Al-Rifai commended the participation of forces from the army, police, and general firefighting force, highlighting the significance of joint work and experience sharing in crisis management. Al-Mekrad reiterated that such exercises contribute to integrating military agencies and enhancing societal security by bolstering capabilities in disaster and crisis management to uphold homeland security.
