Mubarak Al- Kabeer Port Waiting For The Floating Of 6 Tenders To Execute Projects
Mubarak Al- Kabeer Port is waiting for the floating of six tenders to execute projects related to loading and unloading cargo by the year 2021 – the agreed time-frame, reports Al- Rai daily.
A source close to the Ministry of Public Works told the daily that “the six tenders include road linking the port with the main road, yard for containers, administrative buildings for employees running the port, customs area, equipment handling zone and a special contract for marine dredging.
He wondered about the delayed floating of tenders, especially since international companies had earlier been qualified to execute these projects. “This delay will negatively affect Kuwait Vision 2035, in the sense that the realizations of this vision depends on the execution of such vital projects, particularly those related to transportation – whether by air, land or sea,” warned the source.
In a related development, sources from the Ministry of Electricity and Water affirmed that the ministry is ready to supply high powered electricity network for the port within a certain period, especially since the budget for this purpose has been allocated.
