Mps To Discuss Government Response To Coronavirus And Financial Situation
National Assembly is set to convene on May 12 to discuss the government’s response to novel coronavirus (Covid-19) and the financial situation in the country, said Speaker Marzouq Al-Ghanim Monday.
The MPs will look into how the government is tackling the virus crisis in view of health, economic and financial aspects, he said in a press statement at parliament. They will also consider the fallout of the Covid-19 crisis on the country’s financial affairs, the speaker added.
Meanwhile, the top lawmaker highly commended the “tremendous efforts” of the personnel of the Interior Ministry, together with their “civilized but staunch, decisive and immediate response” to anything that could affect the country’s internal security. Al-Ghanim, further, spoke highly of Deputy Prime Minister, Interior Minister and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Anas Al-Saleh’s endeavor to address the problem of visa traders. He added, “All of these problems and unrest are due to residency visa dealers,” and emphasized the support of the National Assembly for the minister in moving forward with this issue.
