Move To Increase Work Permit Fees By Next Year

The Council of Ministers assigned the Public Authority for Manpower PAM to update the work permit system for expatriates, and increase the fee for work permits. The plan includes increasing the fees for services provided by the Manpower Authority, including fees for foreign workers’ visas. The plan also includes amending the work permit system to eliminate the residency trade and marginal workers. The proposal is expected to complete by the second and third quarters of 2022.

The plan includes setting employment quotas in each sector or economic activity for expatriate and national workers. The plan also includes determining the percentage of national labor replacement in the private sector with 5% in the beginning of 2022 to reach 20% by the end of 2025
