Moi Clampdowns On Gatherings, Celebrations
The Assistant Undersecretary for the Public Security Sector, Major General Faraj Al-Zoubi, announced in an exclusive statement to Al-Rai that, in implementation of the Cabinet’s decision to stop events, starting tomorrow, Tuesday, security teams (for support) will be directed with the Kuwait Municipality to tour all halls and inform them of the decisions and abide by the instructions.
Al-Zoubi said that all provincial security directors have been informed of the need to monitor any celebrations taking place, whether in homes, chalets, farms or stables, and whoever is in violation will be referred to the competent authorities and a case will be registered against them.
He added that among the security trends, “there is currently no return to distributing security men in malls and markets, and the role of security men will be limited to supporting the municipality teams in the malls to inform the owners of malls and markets of the need to adhere to health requirements.
He concluded that the Ministry of Interior (Public Security Sector) will implement all decisions issued by the Council of Ministers, including adherence to the health requirements in the country and not to tolerate anyone who violates these instructions, and a case will be registered against violating health requirements and referred to the Special Misdemeanors Court.
The Kuwaiti Government decided on Monday to bar holding all kinds of peoples’ gatherings in closed places effective next Sunday until February 28.
The decision will be re-examined in light of the epidemiological conditions in the country, the official Twitter account of the Government Communication Center said.
Moreover, the Cabinet also decided  make it obligatory for all incoming travelers to undergo a PCR test 72 hours ahead of arrival in the country — as of Tuesday.
The sudden surge in infections reaching 982 persons yesterday has warranted the government to take drastic measures to contain the spread of the virus
