Kuwaiti Man Sentenced To Death For Killing His Wife

According to Al-Qabas daily, the Criminal Court sentenced a citizen to death for the premeditated murder of his wife and denied his attorney's request for a life sentence on the grounds that the defendant has a file at the psychiatric hospital. According to the Court of Cassation, mental illness does not exempt an individual from criminal responsibility, which made this ruling the first of its kind.

After his wife was staying in her father's house after giving birth, the accused lured her to meet him to resolve their dispute in Al-Ardhiya after they had disagreed.

The convict asked her out to talk about some problems, and took advantage of the opportunity to kill her. According to a previous ruling published by Al-Qabas, mental illness is not always a cause of irresponsibility. According to other provisions, common sense must prevent the perpetrator from committing some crimes, even if he claims he was unaware due to the mental stimulus he was taking at the time.
