Kuwaiti Coffee Is One Of The Most Expensive In The World
According to a study published by the SavingSpot website, Kuwait is among the 10 most expensive countries in the world for a cup of coffee, with the average price reaching KD. 1.72 (USD 5.71), Al-Rai daily reported.
Although the price of a cup of coffee is expensive in Kuwait, the average per capita consumption of coffee in the country is 3.1 kilograms annually.
The study found that five countries in the Middle East – Qatar, Kuwait, Lebanon, the UAE, and Saudi Arabia are among the 10 most expensive places in the world to drink coffee, in stark contrast to Turkey and Iran, the two neighboring countries, which provide the cheapest coffee prices in the world.
According to the study, coffee prices are expensive in East Asian countries as well. For example, a cup in Tokyo costs about USD 5.29.
Although tea is the main and traditional drink throughout Asia, the growth of coffee shop culture, particularly in the Middle East, has led to an increased demand for coffee across the region.
One of the most prominent results of the study is that in South Korea you will pay the highest cost for a cup of coffee, which averages USD 7.77 per cup, while in Tehran one will find the cheapest price, USD 0.46 for a cup of coffee.
Also, the study found that Luxembourg is the largest consumer of coffee in the world, consuming 11.1 kilograms per person per year.
Nepal, India, and Pakistan are among the largest abstaining countries from coffee in the world, with each country drinking less than 0.1 kilograms per person per year.
It is worth noting that the study relied on data from the Statista website, in which researchers measure the number of kilograms of coffee each person consumes in a year. around the world.
