Kuwaiti Business Women Says, Focus On Kuwait Role In Empowerment Of Women
Two Kuwaiti business women highlighted, during a business meeting in Jordan Thursday, Kuwait’s experience in promoting women empowerment and building their abilities.
Bedoor Al-Sumait, President of Business and Professional Women Network (BPWN), and Mashael Al-Asousi, BPWN’s Secretary, shared their knowledge while attending the first meeting of the Middle East and North Africa Businesswomen’s Network (MENA BWN) with participants from Qatar, Bahrain, UAE, Jordan, Egypt, Tunisia, Algeria, Sudan, Lebanon, and Morocco.
They stressed the importance of BPWN in hosting various business activities and events in Kuwait that are mainly centered on women’s economic, social, and development role. As a member in MENA BWN’s board of directors, BPWN is taking part in the meeting to find ways that links Arab businesswomen and connect them together, Al-Sumait stated to KUNA.
The meeting also discussed a number of important issues such as financial inclusion, business networking on local, Arab, and international levels, and business guidance, she said. It also discussed building abilities, financing possibilities, women empowerment, and boosting ties among MENA BWN members, Al-Sumait added.
For her part, Al-Asousi told KUNA that the meeting is MENA BWN’s first, which main purpose is to follow the decisions resulted from the founding meeting that was held in Bahrain last April. The decisions included a number of initiatives regarding ways of business networking between Arab businesswomen, as well as communication among local, regional, and international economic and development institutions.
