Kuwait To Host High-level Iaea Delegation

From May 16 to 18, a high-level delegation from the International Atomic Energy Agency, including the Agency's Deputy Director-General, the Head of the Nuclear Sciences and Applications Department, and the Director of the Asia and Pacific Division in the Technical Cooperation Department, will visit Kuwait.

Dr. Nader Al-Awadi, the agency's national liaison officer, said in a press release that the visit is part of a larger effort to strengthen technical cooperation between Kuwait and the IAEA, during which the development of national capabilities and skills in areas related to the agency's work will be discussed, as well as planning for future expectations to assist in meeting development challenges in economic and social aspects.

A meeting with officials and specialists from the Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research, as well as a visit to the institute's laboratories, a meeting with specialists from the Ministry of Health to strengthen cooperation with the Agency in medical fields, and a meeting with officials from the Arab Fund for Economic and Social Development and the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development are all part of the visit. The group is also slated to meet with Ministry of Foreign Affairs officials.
