Kuwait Sends Generators, Fuel To Support Energy Needs Of Basra
Iraqi Border Port Commission announced on Thursday the arrival of electric generators sent by Kuwait to support the energy needs of Basra governorate. “Seventeen large electric generators presented by Kuwait had arrived to the Iraqi borders on July 24, and all generators completed their entrance procedures to Al-Basra,” said head of Border Port Commission Kadhem Al-Iqabi. Kuwait has sent those generators and a large amount of fuel on the orders of His Highness Amir Sheikh Sabah Al- Ahmad Al-Jaber AL-Sabah to decrease the suffering of the Iraqi people.
Meanwhile, Kuwaiti Consul General in Erbil Dr Omar Al-Kandari visited Thursday Erbil governorate building, which was attacked by terrorists few days ago. “The goal of the visit is to check on the Governor and employees’ safety after the attack,” the Consul told KUNA.
Al-Kandari praised the security forces for countering the terrorist “condemned” attack. For his part, Erbil Governor Nawzad Hadi Mawlood, in a statement to KUNA, welcomed the visit, assuring Kuwait’s role in helping alleviate the suffering of refugees in Kurdistan region. Erbil governorate building was attacked by armed men last Monday, where security forces were able to stop the attack and kill the gunmen after a clash that lasted for hours.
