Kuwait Launches An Electronic Platform To Provide Customs Services
The Kuwait Public Authority for Industry launched a new electronic platform that enables beneficiaries to access a large number of customs services and transactions provided by the Standards and Metrology Department via the internet in the easiest ways and contribute to raising competitive indicators in the country.
The Deputy Director General, Assistant Undersecretary for the Standards and Industrial Services Sector in the Authority, Mohamed Al-Adwani, said in a press statement today, Thursday, that the platform was developed according to the highest standards of efficiency in terms of speedy completion of registration and reduced time spent on beneficiaries.
Al-Adwani reported that the platform was linked to the electronic system in place with the General Administration of Customs, so that manual seals are dispensed as well as reducing the time required to release incoming shipments, raising work efficiency and reducing the number of daily reviews.
He pointed out that, according to the directives of the Minister of Trade and Industry, the Director General of the Industry Authority, and the cabinet decisions concerned in fighting the emerging Corona virus (Covid 19), the need arose to launch the platform as soon as possible, as well as the importance of switching to an electronic system to ensure that its services are saved electronically by archiving and converting to a paperless environment.
