Kttaa Role In Return Of Domestic Workers Yet To Be Clarified
The information about the return of domestic workers has not yet reached the Kuwait Travel & Tourism Agencies Association (KTTAA) through official channels, hence the association is unaware of its role in the implementation of the plan, reports an Arabic daily.
In a press statement, the association disclosed that it heard about the plan through news reports only and there has not been any official communication.
Kuwaiti travel offices remarked that it is their Right authorized by the State to sell tickets, make hotel reservations, and offer travel packages.
The association said these activities are the main functions of its members that are known for their experience, accessibility, proximity to citizens’ homes.
The association voiced objection to any plan that ignores these travel agencies in the implementation of relevant procedures such as purchasing tickets and booking hotels.
It intends to present its views to the concerned authorities, pointing out that it welcomes the idea of competition and equal opportunities as stipulated in the Constitution.
It added the freedom to engage in economic activities is guaranteed for everyone in a manner which does not lead to restricting, preventing, or harming competition such as monopoly and other similar practices.
