Kd 5,300 Collected During Inspection Campaigns

The Violations Removal Department of Capital Municipality collected fines worth KD 5,300 during inspection campaigns carried out in the month of August. Head of the Violations Removal Department Eng. Abdullah Jaber explained that the department carried out several inspection campaigns based on instructions from Director of Capital Municipality Eng. Ammar Al-Ammar.

The campaigns included inspection of commercial shops and shopping malls, issuing of citations against violating real-estate and encroachments on state properties and lifting of abandoned vehicles. During these campaigns, 254 citations and 39 warnings were issued against violating advertisements and 35 such advertisements were removed. They also issued 122 citations and 25 warnings against food-related violations.

In addition, 41 citations against violations related to hygiene and occupancy of roads were issued. The inspectors placed 55 warning stickers on abandoned vehicles and 15 stickers on structures that are to be demolished. Ten pledges were signed as well.

They issued 40 warnings to owners of violating structures and two citations against violating buildings. About 15 pledges in this regard were also signed. The inspectors examined 95 buildings before connecting electricity, removed three encroachments on state properties, suspended activities in 14 shops and closed down two shops permanently. Eng. Jaber urged owners of shops and restaurants to avoid violating the relevant laws so that they are not held legally responsible.
