Job Postings Return After Phase Of Layoffs Due To Covid-19 Crisis
Following a recession that lasted for months due to the COVID-19 crisis and the layoffs of employees in the private sector, especially contracting companies, restaurants and delivery services, the labor market has returned to recruitment of workers to fill the deficit that resulted from these layoffs, such that the most prominent title of the current stage is “required to work”, reports Al-Qabas daily.
The daily followed scores of job advertisements during the past two weeks and monitored the control of demand for delivery services over the jobs required in the labor market, whether for individuals or companies, alongside app programmers, sales and marketing services via the Internet.
The market for secretarial services, accountants and designers, and corporate communication website administrators is in great demand, and the employee demand record has gained increasing desires. The most prominent feature of the company requests is the desire to directly employ those who wish to work for salaries ranging between KD 250 and KD 450 for delivery jobs, while others have linked the salary.
Employment
Meanwhile, statistics issued by the National Labor Sector of the Public Authority for Manpower revealed that there are 16,151 Kuwaitis waiting for employment in the private sector including 8,665 who hold university degrees, which constitutes 53 percent of the total applicants who registered with PAM.
In addition, eight of the registered applicants are PhD holders, 202 of them have master’s degree, 2,680 of them have diploma, and 2,000 job seekers have secondary school certificates and below.
Meanwhile, Civil Service Commission (CSC) recently raised the pace of candidature of all citizens holding university degree in various disciplines by announcing the nomination of 314 citizens specialized in economics, days after the nomination of 221 others holding Sharia and law specializations – within the framework of completing its plan to nominate all degree holders who are registered with the sector in their various disciplines to work in government agencies, reports Al-Rai daily.
Informed CSC sources affirmed that “after the Commission succeeded in nominating 535 registered university degree holders with various specialties, it is now working to collate the list of names of registrants to nominate management and IT specialists to join their colleagues who are already set to work in government agencies.” The same sources commended the efforts of CSC officials and their keenness to appoint registered university degree holders in their various specialties to serve, noting the decision has left a positive mark in the hearts of the children of Kuwait.”
