In Terms Of Billionaires, Kuwait Ranks First
Among the top three places in the world were Kuwait with a billionaire for every 33,090 inhabitants, followed by San Francisco with a billionaire for every 56,209 inhabitants, and Hong Kong in third place with a billionaire for every 59,516 residents. Its status as an urban area (capital) makes Kuwait the most densely populated city in the world when it comes to billionaires.
According to Ultrata, the wealth of billionaires in the world increased by 17.8 percent in 2021 to $11.8 trillion, with 3.3 percent increase in billionaires to 3,311. According to the report, billionaires control a large proportion of global wealth. Their wealth accounted for 27.4 percent of the world's high net worth, which means those who have fortunes of $30 million or more, last year.
Almost three quarters of the world's billionaires and 81 percent of billionaires' wealth reside in 15 countries. According to the report, North America continues to rank first in terms of the number of billionaires, with 1,035 billionaires in 2021, an increase of 5.6 percent over 2020. In Europe, billionaires increased by 6.8 percent to 954, while in Asia, there were 899 billionaires, an increase of 1.8 percent.
There are 20 super billionaires in the world, each with a fortune exceeding $50 billion dollars. According to the report, among the top 5 industries in the world, the technology sector owns the youngest and most self-made billionaires, while industrial conglomerates own the oldest and least self-made.
As a nation, Saudi Arabia ranked ninth in the number of billionaires, up 10.9 percent each year, with 192 billion dollars in total wealth, up 33 percent annually, and the UAE ranked 15th with 45 billionaires, a decrease in their number by 10 percent, and 181 billion dollars in total wealth, an increase of 20 percent every year.
