In 2021, Joint-stock Companies Will Acquire 48% Of Licenses

Individual licenses, public and closed joint-stock companies, and individual licenses were among the 12,279 business licenses given by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry in 2021, according to the ministry.

 

According to local Arabic daily citing ministry sources, public and closed joint-stock firms and their branches topped the list of licenses awarded last year, accounting for around 48 percent (5,847 licenses); individual commercial licenses accounted for 20 percent (2446 licenses).

 

The daily reported that during the last two months of the year, the concentration of licenses for operating and closed joint-stock companies and their branches was 2,533 licenses in November and 2,534 licenses in December, with the remaining small percentage distributed throughout the rest of the year.

 

Individual commercial licenses were active from the beginning of the year to the end of October before ceasing during the last two months of the year, whereas public company licenses were active from the beginning to the end of the year before ceasing in April, May, July, August, and December.
