His Highness The Amir Congratulated Drugs Busting Operation
His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah on Friday sent a cable to Acting Prime Minister and Interior Minister Sheikh Mohammad Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, congratulating him, and ministry officials, on thwarting an attempt to smuggle a huge amount of Captagon into the country. His Highness the Amir, in the cable, praised Minister Sheikh Mohammad Al-Khaled, ministry undersecretary and officials at the Drugs Control General Department for the diligent and sincere efforts that led to a successful operation.
The attempt to bring 10 million Captagon pills worth KD 25 million into the country was foiled earlier today, as the shipment was professionally hidden in a container coming from Turkey, according to a ministry statement. His Highness the Deputy Amir Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Al-Muabark Al-Hamad Al-Sabah sent similar cables. Similarly, Speaker of National Assembly Marzouq Al-Ghanim thanked Saturday a number of state bodies for their efforts in thwarting an attempt to smuggle a huge amount of narcotics into the country.
Al-Ghanim, in a press release, congratulated Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister Sheikh Mohammad Al-Khaled Al-Sabah as well as Deputy Prime Minister, Finance Minister, and Acting Oil Minister Anas Al-Saleh for their efforts in the operation which earned the recognition from His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah An attempt to bring 10 million Captagon pills worth KD 25 million into the country was foiled Friday. The drugs were hidden in a container coming from Turkey.
